Bishop's Personal Statement I am 52 years of age and a 3rd generation member of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. In 1976, at the age of 20, I attended my first Holy Convocation. That experience had such an inpact on me that I changed the course and destiny of my life. For I determined in my heart at that time, that I wanted to serve this church for the rest of my life: serve it with all my strength and heart in righteousness and holiness. With the blessings of God, I have fulfilled part of my destiny by serving at the Local, District, Jurisdictional and National levels. I believe that my destiny now is to continue to serve this church at its highest level of servitude, as a General Board member. Bishop Matthew Williams has been married to Mother A. Gayle Williams for 32 years. They have been blessed with one child, Deniece Williams. Your candidate for the General Board is a dedicated husband, loving father and devoted family man.
